happy Holidays from those plastering giordano’s
Why stucco pac’s are important when one coating or applying any of the same day cement plaster coats, most plastering companies know exactly what i’m talking about as there are so many plasterers who over trowel or darby the base coat causing the pac’s to break, thus, most just falls off, the sound reminds me of cow crapping on flat rocks as even if it’s a drop out around the corner, a sharp plasterer will know what just happened by the dropping sound.
Cheers me friends and Merry Christmas from the giordano’s

Kirk serious question. when people ask you questions, do they always say" gee Kirk" first?
Howdy John dude, I don't believe I have heard anyone say the word, Gee, as it's a nerdy word reserved only for use by geeky plasterers.

Just wondering if you ever use a fine sand finish and is it possible to make it look good over hardcoat.
Howdy Kieth Dude, good question, many times, if you type in Santa Barbara Smooth Mission Finish on our channel, a few hard steel trowel finish videos should appear,
BTW, BMI also makes the fine finish called "marble finish coat."
In fact every majoy cement stucco company has all three finishes such as fine, medium and heavy finish coat cement plaster finishes.

Howdy Lou, your just saying this as you too are maned Luuuu.
Lou is my brother, I love the man and tease him sometimes as we are family. Lou's skin is thick like rhinos, in fact, the more shit people say negative about him the more he likes you.

the consistency of your mud is always so perfect. Im jealous..
Howdy, this is because my son, Jason is also a plastering contractor, but hod carries too, "mixes mud" when we do video's or my brother Luuuu, mixes, both have many years mixing all cementitious material's well.
This is the main reason I appear to be a very good plasterer. But then again I used to mix for a couple of years before plastering. one has to walk before he can run.

STEVE MCQUEEN!
Howdy Doug, dam this is getting scary Deja Vu for the third time today, I was talking to a friend about a movie called I think Popillin or something similar, I said it had Dustin Huffman and another really cool dude in it but couldn't recall the name, opened my laptop just now, your only comment happened to be his first name, " Steve McQueen", I got to leave this room and go get like Coldplay sang, "drunk and High" as weird stuff is going on and gives my Italian, Irishman heritage a twist to do what I naturally ought to do, im in Florida visiting an injured friend.

Even though you're showing how to do it, it still takes time to master
I tried to do this by myself… never again, hardens to fast in South Carolina
Howdy Tatunka, it's really about mastering or knowledge of cement plasters, this is 70% of the trade, the other 30% is application.
I can choose cement plasters that sets in five minutes or 2 hours, it's about knowing which one will fit the need and the temperature that day, FYI, I do use accelerator and retardants depending on working in 30 to 100-degree weather.
May peace, love, and happiness, find you and yours, always

Some of your other videos suggest / show using Weld-Crete along the mated edges and the pre-existing stucco wall surface. Why not here?
Good afternoon Mark, we double lath the top, thus possibly avoiding a hairline crack. Plus, not all the bonding agents we use are blue. Some are white, which don't show when dry.
Such as Quikrete bonding agent I sometimes purchase when at home depot.
This video was about a three-coat same day system, not the double top lath or use of a bonding agent.

Dude. We're do you get your shirts? Love it.
Love your videos man. Do you have any videos on how to do stucco bands? I love to see that, so i can do it at bome. Thanks for taking the time to make all this videos
love your vids — but you might be able to work faster — in uk they would but board under the wall with tin bath of plaster, and lift plaster up the wall from the bath (or large wood board), to save time – for interior plaster on brick – 1/2-1 inch base coat (thick brown) top coat (1/16 thin pink)
Kirk, you make it look so easy. I could watch your videos longer than if I started to do the work. Thanks for all your videos!
Amazing!
Kirk G you are the man! You have given the world a great gift of sharing your talent and knowledge and passion for quality plastering. I have spent may hours watching your videos and they gave me the confidence I needed to do some of my own stucco work. Not a big job but two brick piers in the front of the house so very visible. Well they turned out pretty good even after doing a hand thrown dash coat just like Uncle G. taught me. Thanks so much for your videos and your style. I love watching your channel. Nobody out there has the confidence and know-how to share what some would consider "trade secrets". Thanks again, YOU ROCK!
Thanks Kirk for sharing your 30 plus years of knowledge!!! Youll be rewarded one way or another for helping fellas out!! Good Luck!!
How would you repair a stucco finish that has been painted over the years and has shiners in it where paint and finish were scraped off in the past. It is a tudor style home with stucco inset between trims. I figure based on what I have watched,,,, remove loose stuff (there is not much), apply glue, apply skim coat of stucco 3/8" and use green trowel to finish? Can you give more detail dos and donts?
Take a grinder to it and scratch as much of the paint as possible.
If you do try it make sure you wet the area before applying the glue. You can also mix portland cement and water into a paint like consistency and brush it on. Just make sure you wet the area first. Or take a grinder and make little "X" marks throughout the area, not too deep just score it lightly.
Kirk would you recommend using a portland/water slurry and paint it on as a glue?
Love your videos and Humanity
Boy you do it the her a way.for so many years in the trade., I'm surprised. No wonder you come up with so many hollows. A swimming pool trawel.l Browning.
George Nerren, if I were you I would fix that comment by taking it away. Learn your grammar before posting comments…and make sure you know what you're talking about while you're at it. But I'm just refrasing Kurt, he said it all already.

Love your videos. Kirk you are a craftsman and it shows in your narrative and work. The one thing I would like to see changed is a better view of the surfaces as you work so we can understand exactly what the goal is. Keep it up.

Over time the wood can weaken or the wooden wall can fall due to the cement?
@Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. cualquier papel impermeable me sirve? asi sea en aluminio?
@Adalberto Peña no, my friend, aluminum won't seal the nail or staple holes. The two layers of paper seal the nail's punctures.
