Water Intrusion on stucco Decks, New stucco walls & decks leaking
Hello everybody, in this video Larry Beilman and I share some tips on Exploration and understanding leaking decks. Larry Beilman is a thirty years contractor that specializes in building second story additions. He has built at least 30 in Alameda alone in the last 30 years. Take it from Ol kirk I have worked for at last 40 general contractors, he is the best and his prices are the about the most competitive for the quality, that’s why so many architect’s refer him to their clients.

Hi Shannon K, thank you, funny you should ask to see the follow up, I asked my son If he thought we should do a step by step follow up with the proper sequence in one video, we weren't sure folks would want to see the result of waterproofing membranes for decks new plywood and such, but we'll do for you. thanks for watching.

lol, Kirk you were correct when you said 10 times better. If it was twice as good so it leaks in 20 years instead of 10. 🙂 Just had to hound you a little.
Please make extra videos on this project its a very good interesting one. That will really show of your guys skill and expertise! And as always Thank you!

Morning Dusty, man, I'll be long dead befor this area ever deteriorates, cause if I'm still alive and there's any issues I'll have to get my ass over there and redo it.
Can't have that.
Well do a follow up on larry's progress before we take over.
We will apply a membrane, than a water resistant base coat of stucco, and a water resistant primer with an acrylic finish coat, then the homeowner will paint with an elastomeric primer and paint.
It will out last the rest of the home, but that's what they pay us for.
Another day at the office.
Larry is replacing a the deck at this time and rebuilding the pillars, plu a lot of other fixes.
Then the deck membrane dude does his waterproofing, and floods the deck for at least a day before he applies his base coat, his flagstone comes after were done with our stucco.
The waterproofer of the deck has to allow the water to set at least 24 hours to make certain his membrane is water tight.
Thanks for watching and best wishes,
kirk and family

I wish I could take 2 weeks of my time to learn whatever you do. Just amazing. If your ever in the LA area let me know.

Morning Ctl1u, thank you. I imagine I can't do what you do either, unfortunately, it would require a bit more than two weeks to fully understand the in's and out's of the stucco and plastering world,
Best wishes,

Hi Kirk, thanks for changing the landscape of YouTube with your intelligent, informative and useful videos.I've learned a lot from you. I really appreciate you taking the time on so many projects to essentially help others. You're a good man. I, like you, strive to do the job right and do it once.I'm not a plasterer by trade but I've learned and done enough to be confident my work was done to uniform code and solid building practices. Thank you for the well filmed (steady),entertaining and solid videos. Keep up the excellent work.
