Fixing wrong ugly or lousy stucco patches, Skimming two patches under windows

Stucco Skimming two patches under windows, re-texturing ugly wrong or bad finishes or textures.
stucco re-texturing ugly wrong or bad finishes or textures

Howdy, all, in this video, we’re showing you how to remove stucco then re-texturing ugly, wrong, or bad finishes.

It all takes practice learning to re-plaster poor or wrong finishes and textures that don’t match the existing wall.
Yes, that’s right, we were considered real plasterers.

First, we removed the old stucco as it was ugly as sin.

Once that was done, it was time to clean it up, apply a bonding agent, use some mesh tape around the perimeter crack, and then apply a coat of finish stucco to match the existing stucco close as possible.
No problem, if you know how to do it.

The caulking I applied in the hole is called Sika flex. It’s an adhesive sealant and incredibly strong.
Just don’t get any of that caulking on you as it’s tough to remove as it’s a polyurethane caulking.
It’s so strong a few drops will hold bricks together.
That’s mighty strong to be alright.

Stucco Color coat repair cracks and respread, Stucco failures cracks in new stucco

July 29, 2014 By Stucco Plastering 89 Comments

Stucco Color coat repair cracks and respread, Stucco failures cracks in new stucco,
failures in stucco. Stucco Cracks why new stucco walls can crack.

Howdy, all our friends in this video repaired stucco cracks and explained why new stucco walls can crack. There are many ways to fix cracking on new stucco homes. This is just one way.

FYI, this home is on the Hayward fault line, plus there were two separate substrates we discovered after we accepted this new stucco job.
One, it had just been originally sided with T1-11 Plywood Siding.

As we removed the wood surrounding the windows, we regrettably found another type of wood siding installed by someone with no knowledge of the wood siding they installed.

Plus, they built two-story home next door next to this home after completing the stucco.
This two-story new house development created movements with severe vibrations.
Structural movement is like kryptonite to Superman, not good.
Is it a fault of ours? Of course not, but we fixed it anyway.

Below are a couple of videos that explain the entire stucco finishing process in detail.
So, please, be our guest and view if you are considering a color finish instead of painting!

The homeowners knew nothing about any of these facts, so they were victims also.
It was nothing we could not handle to keep folks happy.

Next, kick back, relax, and enjoy the video!

Plaster over interior concrete and or drywall, drywall compound uses

July 10, 2013 By Stucco Plastering 133 Comments

Plaster over interior concrete and or drywall, drywall compound uses

Howdy everyone, on this interior garage wall we show how to plaster over interior concrete and or drywall, using a drywall compound.

In this video I am using a drywall compound, however you can use
Structo-lite then come back with a taping mud or plaster finish.
Or you can use Imperial or Diamond basecoat plaster with a diamond or imperial veneer plaster finish or you can even apply an exterior stucco then finish with taping mud or plaster.
You can even apply 3 to 4 coats of taping mud waiting at least 24 hours between coats until you finally get the proper thickness.
I have done this type of repair even more ways than these above mentioned but hopefully you get the idea.
