Exterior stucco coat thickness or depth, then scarifier or put lines in the stucco.
In this video, I’m answering the old question, how thick stucco should be applied.
This exterior cement plaster is being applied 3/8 thick as a rule; what happens if you use a little more or less? Nothing. On your second coat, you can always add or apply thinner to reach the correct depth.
After you have your first coat of stucco on, you then scratch it horizontally with a scarifier.
This provides a key for your next coat or the brown coat to be applied to.
When both are applied, that’s your basecoat; if you want to put a texture in the base coat, the surfaces are unlimited.
