What did you use? Poli bond?
Hi Maria Alejandra Garcia, no, I used portland cement with accelerators in it.I had to apply a bonding agent for this to adhere. If I would have used polybond, this would have adhered but this patch would have been too thick for it to set as fast as I needed it too. Best wishes, kirk Giordano
You applied your weldcrete in such a way that only the portions that actually had weld crete on it will bond your patch. You should have applied the weldcrete to the entire area that needed to be feathered out so that your feather will have a bond as well. Without bonder the new stucco rubs off like powder in your hand, even with baking powder or some other chemical in it that is designed to prevent the material from freezing, not forcing it to dry quicker, shortening your cureing process and thus weakening the finished product. It also prevents you from being able to pull the matching texture out of the patch leaving you with a giant bald corner. The portland lime riversand mixture, I assume your using, isn't supposed to be spread on any thicker than an 8th of an inch. If it is too thick the lack of fiberglass, that comes in cocentrate or premix, will cause it to hairline crack like a spider. I will say in your defence, it did look like you were trying to polish a terd.
Thanks for the tip. Cheers and have a happy holiday season from the Giordano gang.
