Install new window in a concrete foundation, new window in concrete Larry beilman construction
Hello everybody, in this video Larry Beilman and I share some tips on How to install a window in a concrete wall. Larry has built at least 30 in Alameda alone in the last 30 years. Take it from Ol kirk I have worked for at last 40 general contractors, he is the best and his prices are the about the most competitive for the quality, that’s why so many architect’s refer him to their clients. You may reach Larry at Larrybeilman@yahoo.com, or phone number 510 697-0540

Kirk,
Was the L-shaped retaining wall pre-existing, or was it part of the window installation project?
Evening GSMSfromFV, excellent question,
The city made him install this L shaped retaining wall when he applied for the permit.
Something to do with codes.
Best wishes,
kirk and family
My bathroom window sill on the outside broke and I need to replace it does anybody know how or have a video on how to replace the seal should i chisel it out and slide another one in it?
@Lelsie Mcleod Hi Lelsie, use the illustration in this video, remove the window and frame if you must, apply any of the peel and stick membranes that are sold at either Home Depot or Lowe's, then stucco as usual.
If it were me I would glue the sill back together with an exterior adhesive, then pre drill a few hole and countersink the right screws to hold it permanently, as some sill's go clear through to the inside wall.
Of course if it rotted this wont work.
Best wishes and have a Fantastic day! Kirk Giordano’s DIY plastering tips
You should watch Mike Haduck's video on installing replacement basement windows. He doesn't use any wood, all concrete. No worries about the wood rotting later. You did a nice job though.
@Joseph M Hi Joseph, thanks for the tip, have a good evening. kirk Giordano plastering
I've been trying to install receptors on new window openings. but it only shows the caulking. how do you install a receptor in an opening
Good morning Doris as a rule I don't install windows for folks however I have installed many for myself I would advise starting with Dupont's straight flash waterproofing flashing system the set the unit in a bed of sealant for bulletproof results.Try googling this procedure although I don't show it i'm sure some folks do. So do you add the pressure wood only for something to hold the window to or is there more to it. I'm asking because I moved to Europe building a home and here all the locals install aluminum windows directly to concrete since houses here are made purely from concrete. I want to add wood American style because I think it also helps so it doesn't condensate but architect tells me no need. Yet all my neighbor house get moldy/condensate in the inside and need painting each year. Even though the windows are thermo. I'm thinking the wood is better. Any info will help thank you
$40 can rent a concrete saw at the hardware store. Any man can cut a window in a concrete wall that has some testies and votes for Trump.
Cutting through concrete I thought to was rocket science and then I heard this guy on the video and was like great I now gotta get an engineer out watch. Already blood boiling bc i f it were for me if he like yeah right but my brother would probably agree with the pros @CryptoConservativeJason so I listened and then read your post and lmfao…that was a good one and glad there are people out there that have the balls to put the pros in there place . Get there heads out of rule books and into reality… Really is it necessary bc if its not pros say it so that we you know the worker bees do it there way with confidence as we have real world experience of want it and not institutions selling over priced craps I influencing codes.bc theres obviously more than one way to snap ur carrot so I'm sure a trillion just as good a way to replace or place a window @CryptoConservativeJason thanks for sharing and helping someone like me who was looking it watching video after video of clink after doink y clink demonstrate how to waste the most amount of money when you don't need to. These people forget that Low we and the depot only donate what we forget to pay for when it over priced I mean by accident and not all of us have them as sponsors .
@Michael Cunha just be careful buddy cuz the saw will kick. Follow your lines on all four corners about a inch deep then cut the sides then the bottom and then the top. Make sure you keep it wet. Dont let that saw kick.
if you vote for trump, you've never worked for trump….he used to pay $5 an hour when they he re -did the wolman rink in new york…concrete demolition!!!
@john iorio Exactly. He has used multiple immigrants to do construction on his properties. Bypassing having to pay Americans what they should be paid for the job.
Why do companies leave the cutout concrete in bottom of holes before backfilling?
