How to caulk hairline cracks in newly cured stucco
Howdy guys and gals too, in this video I explain why it’s a good idea to hang the sheetrock prior to the last coat of stucco. Vibration causes cracking in concrete as well as stucco. (These are solid substrates which don’t flex or bend like wood, they crack instead). The sheet rockers hung the sheetrock after we applied the second or last coat of stucco, which caused the stucco to hairline crack, however even if the sheet rockers did not hammer on the inside walls when both coat of the exterior stucco walls are curing it’s not unusual for hairline cracks to appear.
Cracks in stucco are natural and aren’t considered to be a big deal, just sometime unsightly.

Is normal hairline crack… I recommend use elastomeric paint
Curious why you think things expand when cold and shrink when hot. That's not how physics works. Does stucco behave differently?
You’ve got it backwards. You’re assuming he’s taking about the crack (which is air). He’s saying the stucco expands as the heat comes just like you mentioned which in turn closes the crack.
@Spencer OBrien wow. An internet reply that explained and informed without trolling. You sir are awesome
Is sikaflex preferable on stucco that has already been painted? The house has been pressure cleaned. Want to fill in the hairline cracks before repainting.
Thanks
