Heavy Stucco Dash Finish or Texture, Plastering guru, DIY tips

Hello guys and gals. In this video I will show how we finish an incomplete project. The previous contractor lathed and scratched (well, sort of) this job, and the homeowner was unhappy with their performance so they called me back to finish the job. A good thing too! After we performed some exploration we found many areas that had not been waterproofed properly which would have been a major problem down the line.
The most interesting thing about this house, aside from its incredible garden, is the heavy tunnel dash finish. Its an unusual finish, that can be incredibly difficult to match if you do not know how to do it. The previous contractor attempted a sample of this texture over a piece of sheet rock, which is near impossible as you need a cementitious base layer to give the dash the proper suction. Without that, you will never match the drip patterns. You must also apply two coats of dash, a heavier base coat, and a more watery second coat that will run or drip down the mountains you have created, achieving the dripping tunnel dash finish.
How to apply heavy stucco textures, heavy dash finish.
We had a lot of fun working on this job, I hope you guys enjoy watching the video!
