Graco stucco or mortar pump video, how to use and why a plastering pump.
Hello friends, my pal Andy and I are explaining while showing you how this stucco Graco Pump or as some call it in the UK it this exterior plastering or rendering pump.
This Graco ToughTek CM20 Mortar pump and ToughTek S340e Portable Stucco mortar sprayer operate and what can be achieved by using them.
This Graco ToughTek CM20 Mortar pump and ToughTek S340e Portable Stucco mortar sprayer and Pump is a natural alternative to the big Tommy guns Andy, and I used to use all the time.
The big Tommy guns required or needed at least 9 to 11 guys to manage and run.
By using this smaller Graco Pump, there’s no doubt you can and will apply or spray more stucco on walls than by applying stucco by Hawk and Trowel.
However, guys who know what they are doing is a good idea.
A good, experienced crew of plasterers is an even better idea.
FYI, most know, Graco is one of the world’s most recognized names in many sprayers and other equipment.
Google, “Graco,” you will be impressed as they invented the popular paint sprayers.
Also, in the video below, we are using this same Graco plastering pump, but on a large commercial two-sided storage building, we finished both coats in a day which would have taken perhaps three without the Pump.
Plus had a good time. Enjoy.https://youtu.be/yjVpplHCLO8/
The fact is Graco pumps are excellent for spraying stucco onto walls so much faster than an entire crew of men than applying by hand.
Granted, like all plastering pumps, this smaller version of a large Tommy plastering gun requires fewer men and can still get any job completed so much faster than by hand.
Graco mortar sprayer, Graco paint sprayers, Graco cement sprayers, Graco technology.
I’m working with a few plasterers in this video and having a great time not only getting the job done but getting paid to exercise as well. Can’t beat that.
Next, kick back, relax, and enjoy the video!
Oh yeah, don’t forget to save the world, like and subscribe. It’s not only good karma, but It also makes you feel warm and fuzzy all over.

Good afternoon John, Dude, it was the first time we used it, surpassed my wildest expectations with strength, adaptability, while being simple to operate, these time conserving modern pumps could only be engineered from the minds at Graco.

Good afternoon John dude, they do tend to have longevity and their side must be made in the U.S. under quality management.
As my Graco paint sprayer is almost as old as me and still funtions like new, I keep it ugl as in covered with many coat of paint so no worries about it being stolen.

Nice. We use the fireproofing version, F340e. Love it. 13 bags/hr. now and maybe up to 20 with a forthcoming upgrade. Meeting w/ Graco tomorrow to demo a higher output dual F340e with mid 30's bags/hr. We are not using their continuous mixer but hope to if they can get the bugs worked out.
Good afternoon James Dude, this unit shoots a pallet an hour or 35 50 pond bags,
I used to shoot fireproofing in S.F. many years ago, the pump was so large and the chained on hose so huge and heavy that the cherry picker I was forced to use kept having the back wheels lift off the ground which scared the be-Jesus out of me, I quit after a week out of fear of the cherry picker collapsing.
FYI, the Graco mixer make a perfect mix every time, where using a tow behind mixer which I have at least five,
can and will over mix any same day cement plaster materials thus rendering the cement plaster a bit weaker as the PAC's get beat up, It's rare to find a plastering contractor that even knows what pac's even mean. When the same day cement plasters are overmixed it sort of like plastering in freezing weather below 32 degrees agin when cured it is also weak.

I like it! We don't do enough plaster to run a pump but have been happy with Graco sprayers
Good evening Scott Dude, I turned down many jobs that I would have accepted had I used this mixer/pump system earlier, such as two stray bale homes for a for a contractor that I have been working with for 20 years.
Plus it took me and a full crew to hand apply a coat of stucco to a beat up cement wall about 250 feet in length all day with a float finish that would have taken only one hour with this Graco mixer/pump system.such is life.

Styrofoam doesn't sound very Eco-friendly? With all the plastic floating around the world from that perspective is it worth using that stuff?
Good evening bee friendly dude, exzackory, they recycle the styrfoam and add a contentious finsih to it thus saving landfills with excess styrofoam.
Besides the eath made man as it needed us to produce styfoam for it, old joke from George Carlin.

Just to add on here, I believe the styrofoam they use is recycled, meaning the more of it we put on walls the less of it going into landfills. Sounds like a win-win to me!

Really?……we live in a world full of the stuff……

Hey Kirk; I've never been a fan of Machines taking over 'Skills'.
JOBS are being lost at an unprecedented rate as it is. I think we NEED to keep traditional skills alive and well for as long as possible.
I'd say scrap ALL of the machines ….. Back in the 70's here in the UK we never even had mixers to knock-up the finish, it was all done by hand, and guess what? We used to get MORE volume done in a day than Almost ALL Spreads can manage today with ALL of their machinery.
Setting up, cleaning off all the time and putting away again after takes up Sooooo much 'Productive Time'.
Only ONE person benefits …. The manufacturer of the machinery (Being Built By Robots) with MORE and MORE Jobs vanishing ….. #OOPS!! 🙂
Peter Moring And let me guess, you drive to your jobs by horse and buggy? You mix your mud with a stick and not a drill? Tools improve production, efficiency, and consintency period.
Peter isn't completely wrong here. For us, this machine on this day might not have been the most efficient way to complete this project, but it was fun! There's a time and place for almost all modern improvements, and while this job it was overkill we have some projects coming up in the future that having this machine will be a huge help for. Can't wait to show you guys those too.
Good morning Peter my fellow plasterer, hows life treating you brother?
There is some truth to your comment, the fact remains one still needs a competently trained plastering crew that understands all aspects of plastering by hand, as even though a machine can pump the stucco on, the pumped stucco still need a good darby or rodman for the pumped on stucco work, a hawk and trowel by trained plastering professionals is not just needed it's required, to float whether by sponge or hard rubber float and apply all the different finishes, also requires a man or woman with at least a minimum of 15 to 20 years of hands-on training, our plastering trade can't be learned in a classroom it must be learned with on the job training.
The bottom line is sound and quality machines or pumps can and will benefit some projects, sometimes it's best to have the tools and not need them, but the plastering skills are never going to be outdated or obsolete.
I find indeed tools are necessary but this subject is too vast to talk about in this comment section.
best wishes, my friend.

Good Morning Peter Dude, fair enough,
perhaps trying to squeeze behind a bush with thorny spikes didn't help the fact that you feel I didn't look comfortable, the fact is I was very comfortable as I can darby all day and hardly break a sweat, even if I had not worked behind a pump for quite some time, I can still ride a bike too as I will never lose my skills, o.k. maybe in anther 20 years when I'm feeble and weaak.

Please don't hesitate to post negative product reviews! Those are the most constructive for everyone. The viewer gets an honest opinion, the reviewer gets to express their honest opinion with opinions for improvement, and the manufacturer gets that field tested data from a skilled, reputable tradesman for the price of one unit. At the same time advertising the product. It's a win, win situation. Even negative product reviews don't impact sales. Just watch tech videos on mobile phones. Most are negative.
Good Morning Ivraalia, although true, ours is and will have to stay a positive channel as the products that suck, it's not my nature to expose them but simply avoid using them.
I could write a whole page on products that aren't worth using even if they were offered for free, but that not my style.
FYI, all the products sold by for example, Westside Building Materials are for professional use and have to be of quality or everyone loses, the similar products sold at major hardware stores, well that's another story, some are great while others don't perform as promised.

Hey Kirk. I didn't mean 'you' looked clumsy. I meant the whole machine application looked clumsy ( my bad phrasing I guess 😉
Good morning Pater me fellow plasterer, no worries,
This pumping system was to my disbelief at first a system that seemed too good to be true, but impressed the hell out of me for it's size and efortness in moving.
My brother and both sons, have never worked behind and plaster pumping system and the fella loading the machine was also new as to what to do, perhaps all the lack of experienced knowledge shone through, but I look at it as if we can do it with guys with no practice until that first day, it's a simple machine that requires little practice.,
That being said I feel at least 3 journeyman level fellas are needed at a minimum.

Hey Kirk, another great video. My name is Clayton Cole and I've been plastering with my father for about 8 years or so. He's been in business for over 35 years down here in west central Florida. I was excited to see your opinion on this machine. I want to know what air compressor you were using? Also do you think using a regular drum mixer would keep up? This machine would be a large investment but I would love to have one!
Good morning Homemade Dude, the drum mixers will work but they have a tendency to overmix the product, so you really have to be on the ball when mixing.
I was using my DeWalt air compressor that I mainly use for lathing for the air to his Graco mortar pumping system.
Your right is is a good investment for many projects.

You'll love the mark x. I was a field tester for graco and the mark x. Don't use murco mudd in it because it will pack around the lower ball after about 3 or 4 buckets and you'll be cleaning your pump out because you'll lose all the pressure on the pump. Murco mudd is the only mudd I had this problem with.

Good afternoon Patsy, Italian/Venetion plaster does indeed have crushed marble in it.
This mineral is derived from Limestone. Thier are mineral rock quarries all over the world not just in Italy, you may be right the term Venetian or Italian plastering sort of mean the same thing, and may have originated from Italy, like lime the term "Plaster of Paris" as Paris has one of the biggest rock quarries in the world with an abundance of gypsum plaster.

Greets. Have you tried shooting fibered cements like EZ Mix Scratch/Brown? What was the 50lbs bag mix you're putting on? I heard you say it was QuickCrete, but it looks like a new mix. Have you pushed the unit to determine max yardage rates, and how was the maintenance and cleanup? Lastly, do you have to run any additives for the pump and hose?
Good Morning Rembrant dude, we have pushed this unit to the limits, it works well.
We have also used all sorts of cement products with and without fibers.
I haven't added any additives though like say jibco as I didn't feel they were necessary.

Get over your 220V phobia! Whatever machine you're using, it's going to draw the same energy from the power supply to do the work. The energy draw at 110V requires twice the current as the energy draw at 220V. Twice the current means you need bigger gauge wiring, higher current circuit rating, and the motor runs hotter because of internal losses due to larger circulating currents. For power and longevity, 220V is the way to go. If you have problems with finding 220V on the customer premises, bring your own generator. Problem solved.
@Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. LOL- nobody said anything about requiring the customer to give you a circuit.
You do know the typical house is loaded with high capacity 220V circuits. They power up things like electric hot water heaters, electric dryers, electric stoves, central A/C or heat pumps, and lately electric vehicle charging stations.
@Fred Bloggs No… You just can’t bring a generator to power your 220v tools. That will cost a lot of money to keep the generator fueled and the space it takes up as well as the weight. If it can run in 110v and it has passed the required tests to operate out of a customers home, it’s the more common tool to use than a 220v tool. I’m not disagreeing with you completely but what you are saying is matter of opinion.
Kirk I've been a big fan of yours, great videos, thanks for sharing, I have a ? I need to put aircrete over concrete block 3.5" thick in a crawlspace, I would love to shoot it on in one coat any thoughts how i could do that? I saw this machine to spray it on do you think that would work? I saw alot of different additives that sound like it would hold together that thick. What do you think?
Hey! Thanks Kirk for the content & BTW i love your sense of humor, let me ask you a question real quick, with this machine, how much Sqft does a bag produce?
I’m not even a stucco guy and I enjoy watching your content. Keep up the good work!

Why is that towel taped on the stucco at 2:48? Hahah
What i still find fascinating is you did all those with a base coat. And there wasn’t a need for and actual stucco base! I imagine it matched the home perfectly imperfect. Great job. I’m still honing my skills using soupy mud instead of stucco. I can match finishes wether it’s new home or 90 year old homes. I’m truly impressed. Thank you for the content guys! 2nd gen plaster here and I’m very appreciative of the knowledge.
For real, I’m in SoCal, I’d love to go up there and work for you and gain as much knowledge you’ve all accumulated over decades! See you on the next one G!
Hola, solo sirve para premesclados??? o es posible agregar arena y cemento como en la mezcladora tambor???
