You get about 20-22 holes out of a 3.0 battery which I think is pretty good considering what you are asking the tool to do. Not feeling like a monkey with a tail is worth it having to deal with extension cords or gas powered generators- holes get drilled just as fast as with my Milwaukee corded HD- which now that I think about it hasn’t been used since I got this one!
Really- it’s that good. If you already have some M18 stuff and batteries buy this right now and don’t even think about it anymore.
Also- if you are thinking now that other brands like DeWalt or Makita have “up the ante” and went to the 22-24 volt system you may need to upgrade.... I’d encourage you to test the M18 battery with a volt meter for output voltage......the original “M18” was 18 volts to be sure, the new M18 batteries that say “Red Lithium” might surprise you on a volt meter.
M18 is just the name of the tool system at this point- and even though they’ve upped the volts, they still feel confident in the tools in the M18 line from 4-5 year ago (that were actually designed and rated for 18 volts) to still say the new Red Lithium batteries are compatible with the older M18 tools.
Milwaukee is killing it out here cordless!
A co-worker used this on a project and when he finished drilling the holes he told me 2 things. 1 It changed his mind about a cordless rotary hammer drill versus corded. 2. Changed his mind on Milwaukee tools, he's a DeWalt fan.
Worth every penny if you're needing a strong hammer to replace that old corded antique.
