In the northeast all of that would of been covered with some sort of plastic material. Thanks for sharing.
yolol yes. In this area we use pvc material , vinyl , some aluminum, and depending the size you can see hardie board type material. It's all maintenance free.
Howdy Fillow Tree Dude, we do live in a plastic world, most folks even wear clothes from plastic or oil. Not good,
cheers,

Hi kirk I always told not to plaster over wood same goes with render. I know you have used lattice, but let as know if you get any cracking. Cheers
Hello my fellow plasterer, you mean wet wood?
It all dries our eventually, will we get any cracking when we do start the plastering next week, I'll answer that beforehand, you bet we will get hairline cracks in the newly applied stucco, no matter what rules are followed, all we can do is try to minimize this natural process as we will be applying two cement plaster coats, the contractor will wait at least 28 days for curing , in this waiting period, there will be some hairline cracking especially where the doors open and close because of vibrations of the doors, all very normal.
best wishes,

Hey Kirk, I think you've been spoiled over there ….. In the UK we're regularly working in the Rain and the Minuses in temprature ….. A good bonfire under the steel Water Butt used to do the trick – (until #HealthAndSafety started ruling society 🙂
Hello Peter, yes, I was just whining because I could, we used to have to wait for the garden hoses to thaw of ice many times in days long past too, hope they stay long past, there was a lot of rain this day, but Jason was careful to wait until it stopped before he continued his camera use, he had a few camera lens in the past get too wet and didn't want it to happen again.

Beautiful work!
Howdy Ozone, thank you, we had to stop filming a few times as the wind with the rain was getting Jason's camera wet.
Best wishes,

looks like Monterey. Thanks for posting all the videos. Teaching me a lot
No worries my friend, I worked in Monterey before we duplicated the cement tubes for a museum in Oakland, that were used for housing in the movie, Cannery row, by John Steinbeck during the great depression of 1945.
It is definitely colder in Monterrey than where we were in this video.

Cool Signoff too on this one 🙂
Howdy David, thank you, that was to prove that Jason's on the ball and didn't need to freeze his arse off, but with a jacket I can't work freely anyway,
now if we were plastering and it was snowing I could take my shirt off, work and still stay warm although steam will come off my head or is that the common sense evaporating?
best wishes my friend.

at the 6 minute mark. are you using something like a industrial stapler? I saw the whole video but didn't notice if you went over the name of that tool.
Thanks in advance Kirk! awesome videos
Chris Joaquin it's just a hammer tacker (if that's what you were referring to). Available at most hardware stores.
Never convinced by plastic/vinyl corner beads / stop beads with sand / cement. Ever noticed how much vinyl / plastic waste pipes move, expand contract with heat, weather conditions etc. Galvanised/ stainless steel all day long! Happy new year guys!

Hi Kirk,Is there a temperature below which cement won't stick properly? I've heard different views on that. Some say not to mix cement when it's below 40 or so; others say no, that in Canada and other cold places they mix cement throughout the year, often with bonfires or industrial size heaters nearby. Have you had problems with cement sticking to surfaces when it is really cold out? Thanks from Maryland!
Good Evening Laura, I can tell you from experience that plastering in 27 degree or freezing weather is much more difficult as the water hoses can freeze, I think around 27 degrees is the coldest I've have applied stucco, it best to be between 55 to 99, at least for me, since we can't' control the weather, time in teaches us learn techniques that allow us to improvise in many different temperatures. Best wishes,Have a happy and prosperous new year. kirk giordano plastering
I didn’t realize you had to use different plaster materials depending on your location. I can see how knowing this can help you understand how plaster works and be able to choose a contractor who can help you understand what materials are the best for your house. It makes sense that choosing someone who has the right certifications can help you rest assure they know about this and how to help you with your projects.
Hello Kirk do you have a video for building a retaining wall 4ft or less, want to know how to prepare the footing, thanks I watch your video everytime.
Sorry Jade, no we don't have the advice you're seeking, we just apply stucco over walls that are built. Cheers and have a good and healthy new year, Kirk and Jason giordano
Another great video!
Morning Frank and friends, thank you

were can i buy a white shirt like yrs kirk?
Howdy Peter, I buy all my white work shirts at thrift stores, seams a bit foolish to pay real prices for shirts that will be trashed. They cost me about 2 bucks each. I realize you're joking but I do hear this comment often in the 23,000 comments I have answered thus far. Best wishes with your projects, Kirk giordano plastering on small repairs
