-https://youtu.be/XkQOIpmrfrA/ Same-day Plastering the most complete Plastering video online, Modern Plaster techniques revealed.

Happy holidays to all, my son Dan and I were in San Diego for a couple of days. While bike riding stopped to watch some fellas plastering a complicated wood beam with a ceiling.
After a while, the fella Doug kept looking at me and said, “Aren’t you those guys who do YouTube videos?”

I replied, yea, we’ve done a few on how to plaster. Doug, then said well, man, I’m having a hard time making it stick. What am I doing wrong?
I said your working against gravity.
I thought, O well, I’d rather be plastering than riding a bike, so I proceeded to give Doug and Angelo a one-on-one course in plastering.
The funny thing was when I left, I told my son Dan, there’s no way he’s going to be able to complete that warp around the newly installed beam as it’s too complicated/detailed, and one would have to defy gravity.
Well, We returned later that day, and Ole Doug did indeed repair it, and properly, I thought to myself, man, this guy learns incredibly fast, but then he told me that he also does concrete work.
I personally think Angelo helped plaster it. Angelo was the Spanish dude who was mixing, a heck of a guy and hard workers who got it done beautifully.

My Son Dan thought it cool to be recognized, so he filmed some of it with his iPhone 6, not the greatest quality but an idea of what was going on.
Just for the fun of it.
The fact that they ran out of the base coat was not such a big deal. There are ways to apply a color finish ten times thicker than the manufacturers suggest.
You just apply coat after coat, yes it’s a lot more work, but improvising is an art.

Would really love to see you do a video on adobe materials……. But, most importantly… How to mix a good mix weather in a wheelbarrow or a mixer…. Depending on projects, materials and projects

The Japanese plasters are almost like Taping mud…Or whipped cream… But, great results!!!…
And, that goes for some external Plasters too!….

How to get consistency in the mud mix is a real skill.!!!…

If you get the time could y'all do a video on different mixes for different applications??

Howdy James, actually Anjelow mixed, and Doug watched, he really paid attention, he learned quickly how to finish it off.
He was also skilled at concrete work, so that helped big time with the troweling.
In fact, he did as good a job with the finished work as I would have done.
He was really paying attention to what I was explaining as he knew he'd have to do it. Man learns fast, Impressive skills he had to observe so accurately too.

@Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. not any more, but i will tell you a fish story, years ago i was surf fishing by crystal pier not catching much. any ay i clombed up into the timbers and then worked my way out towards the surf impact zone. looking into the water my eyes couldnt believe what i saw. a dozen or so 10lbs and bigger
spotfin croaker lulling around . i dropped in a sandcrab which was immediatlly swallowed by a large angry fish , it quickly snapped my rod against the timbers. next i switched to just a hand line and caught a very fat fish after a furious struggle .i lost it hauling it up and the hhok just couldnt hold. thats why they call it fishing. i used to work all over pb and la jolla. san diego shares a lot of the same era architecture as san francisco . you might not ever come back if you keep going down there.

I tried to get quotes to get the stucco and arch fixed. All the stucco repair people refused the work. So from watching Kirks videos I did the work myself. Stucco looks original. Can’t tell it was ever worked on. Thanks, Kirk for your instructional videos. I couldn’t have done it without watching your videos. And Merry Christmas.

@Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. sorry to hear that Kirk. Relationships are never easy. I often wondered about the glass of wine she often held in your videos…seemed a little off to me.

@Adam Edgar Howdy Adam, life has a tendency to throw all of us a curve ball sometimes.
I'm as good at bending with adversity. The hard part is not to break.
I'm still standing and better than ever. Cheers my friend.

@Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. thats where a world view with a future becomes important Kirk. There is more to life than the "here and now"…its what happens in the distant future that matters most, in order to have the chance to experience that future, one must join the club…one isnt a club member unless one joins the club! Food for thought.

It's nice to see a person see others struggling and help them through their issue, I think it's better than a bike ride.

Way cool. Curious if the property owner was around and realized you saved the day and helped these guys ?

Sir I have a question. My house and fence have what I believe it’s call lace stucco texture. It’s looking a bit outdated and old. Is it possible to get that nice sand finish over the rough lace texture?? If you a video you can send me the link to it, I would really appreciate it. Thank you and keep up the good work!
