    Hi Kirk I had my security bars put back on my new stucco. Iron works man drilled a 1in by 1in round hole into the outside stucco and through to my inside plaster wall into my bedroom to reach safety latch. Unfortunately the security bar had to be removed because of multiple mistakes made during installation that left me with this hole. The empty space between the outer stucco wall and the plaster wall looks to be about 1 1/2 to 2 inches. I want to know if I need to open the inside bedroom wall just a little to patch that hole from the inside so that when Im able to get the Stucco guy to come back out to fill in the 1 in by 1 inch round hole with about a 1/4 th inch of plaster to be filled in. I dont want to leave the inside wall on the stucco side unpatched because stucco might fall in between the two walls in cause other problems when they patch it from the outside. The stucco guy only does outside stucco. What are your thoughts on how to correct this.

      @Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. I have a few questions. How do I get to your channel, I could not find it. I contact you through youtube. Secondly because the hole was drilled through all the coats of stucco will the mor-flexx be enough to keep water out when it rains?.

    Are you able to restucco a house over the existing stucco or does it need to be removed first?

    Doesn't caulking the cement prevent a good (cement to cement) bond, or are you using it as a flexible barrier between the existing and new?

      Evening Mr. Bigtime, it means, for example, the Jumbo Tex 60 Minute is the industry's leading 60 Minute has six times the water protection of standard Grade “D” paper while providing optimal breathability, and permeability;
      For stucco, fiber cement siding, brick, vinyl, and wood siding.
      I simply tell folks its code and we have to use it.

    Hello Kirk. I have a home (in Socal) that needs stucco repair on exterior wall. Many suggested polymer bond coating after cleaning the surface that has old peeing paint. One of the stucco company however recommended to use FoamTek before applying the cementitious traditional stucco. Can you comment on Foamtek use for this ? It this same as polymer bond that others are suggesting >

    Thanks. Love your videos.

      Good evening SJ, here's the long version you asked.
      WELD-CRETE or Quikrete are the only two I use. below are the reasons why?

      http://www.larsenproducts.com/weld-crete/ I have been using this bonding agent for 40 years and have yet to see it fail thusly choice.

      Thank you sir for that. Should I be worried that this company recommended foamtek as bonding agent ? Do you have experience with it as good bonding agent ?

      Foamtek is the way to go. It’ll stick to any painted surface. That’s how we do it down here.

    Hmmm…Dunno bout that caulking prior to plaster Kirk..understand the concept…but adhesion of concrete will not be to caulking…thus I apply after…subsequently…depending on finish…addressing thereafter…as dry joint results in a crack either way??? Acrylics…you know…Lime…

      Ahhh so call it suit blockage that does not know their ass from a hole in the ground!!!
      Reason I mention is based upon my experience Kirk…concrete sticks not to caulk…and in time…shall delaminate from…therefore re-exposing underlying caulk joint…fully…I would have to argue with a sample to over ride the authoritarian incompotence…providing proof…
      Typical is it Kirk…all can read a book…yet it generally results in non comprehension of it thereafter doing so…

    As a painting contractor / owner in Florida you are so spot on about painting every 10 years or so. It amazes me to the condition of stucco and other types of homes we come across and the sheer neglect by the owners. I have to take the initiative to learn about stucco and plastering just to be able to paint these homes. Thanks for sharing your expertise Kirk.
