Hello, our faithful subscribers and plasterers around the world!.
This video is titled, Stucco/Plastering, heavy sand finishes smooth, hides, or covers stucco textures mistakes. Or Stucco/Plastering, bad stucco finishes/textures, fix ugly textures with sand finishes.
As it’s sooooo true, while paint enhances flaws in stucco.
Most folks think if you keep adding paint, the texture will blend in, it won’t.
In fact, adding more paint to stucco or plastering mismatched texture will make them even more noticeable.
If you have this problem with your stucco, it’s best to hire a stucco company with a lot of time in. Try googling “Stucco plastering companies or services near me,” to get an experienced stucco dude, as to understand all the if and or buts as well, takes some time in.
Unfortunately or fortunately, I have many years into this one trade, what a country!
FYI, This heavy sand finish is asked for by more commercial properties for a good reason. It’s exquisite.
Remember, don’t get mad or remove the stucco. Instead, apply another finish. Your bad stucco texture mistakes can be fixed with a sand stucco finish.

A BIG NOTE: You may also type in any question you may have on Stucco/Plastering issues on our channel, and like magic, a video will appear to explain how it's done. Then kick back, relax, and enjoy the show! 🍿

Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. Alright, Kirk, I first watched the video you filmed of you plastering your little nook with lime. I have a cousin that owns a lime rock quarry, and he's going to provide me with all the lime rock I want, I'm creating a little village settlement and want to make a lime rock stone wall like in England. What would I use to bind the wall? I'm sure you know what I'm speaking of because your dear mate is British—any suggestions. I'd be tickled with any suggestions. I know it's going to be a massive undertaking, but I am quite jolly! Cheers from Florida!

Howdy Kirk! I really like the Blue/gray color it looks amazing! I've been watching your videos for a few years love'em! Just for entertainment and general learning, I work on computers. My house is from 1952 with real thick rock on the exterior. What kind of contractor would be best to fix grout issues? Is that just a mason at that point? Sorry for off topic just thought I would get your experience on this. Here is a picture that gives you an idea of how thick the rock is: https://imgur.com/ldNHl2w You can see the depth of the rocks on the side of the windows. (Note: The picture is a bit distracting from the rock, this is my first attempt at repairing my window from rot. I used wood hardener, then wood bond (This was taken after the first coat of wood bonding before sanding and another coat to fill level it out) then I'll paint. It's a temp fix before we get all the windows replaced they are like 84 by 32 inches so that is costly and will need to be done after other projects.

Some people are just miserable and karma will come and bite them in the butt. I’ve never heard a not nice thing said here about anyone, actually everyone is very kind to each other.
I’ve applied some of the techniques I’ve learned here and it made the job easier as well as a much finer end product and very happy customers.

@Cesar Hernandez these back braces make the difference in sore backs, keep in mind plastering tweaks your spin as one hand holds 30 to 40 pounds and the other takes off ten pounds at a time, to this 5,000 time a day and viola, a tweaked spine.

I have poured basement walls that are a walkout basement (10 year old pour). The forms were just pulled off and you can clearly see the form marks. We went to a local building supply store (not a box store) and were shown a product called Tammscoat. There aren't many videos online about the product but at $150/5 gallon bucket I wanted to know if you have ever used it and if so will the sand based version of this product be thick enough to hide the form marks or will I need to put a thin coat of stucco/mortar over it first?

I'm in Upstate/Central NY or I would hire you to do it! 🙂

Here's a picture of what I'm trying to cover, so I can finish my back hill with some retaining walls and a patio:

Hey Kirk! This video premiered on my wedding anniversary. We were married on 07/17/1977 (gotta love those sevens). Anyway, our house (1960), was stuccoed in 2014 and it now looks like crap! Yeah!! 8 years later! (shoddy contractor work). We want to redo the entire house and we don't know if traditional or acrylic is the way to go? Like you said @ 37:17 seconds (which ironically has the numbers "7 &17" in it, "I'm going to be Pushing Up Daisies". Well, I don't know how old you are, but I'm almost 68 years old. I'm trying to make it to 98 years old (before I'm "pushing up daisies"). Since you're in the Bay Area (which BTW is where I grew up and graduated from Berkeley High School and then California State University, Easy Bay in Hayward), I trust that you will tell me EXACTLY what we should do with our house ? With so many videos, my head is swimming and I certainly don't want to get ripped off this time around. Here is my email: coltranefire@gmail.com. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE (like that James Brown song), let me know which way we should go. I trust your judgement and will go with whatever you recommend! Continued success for you and your family. Look forward to hearing from you:)

Hi. We just had our stucco done on a new house today. It is suppose to be a very light grey (European twilight) but the stucco looks white to cream color. Does stucco get darker with time? Thanks in advance

    Kirk,

I have a stucco chimney that is up against aluminum siding. The caulk is starting to crack (I recently purchased my home). What is the best caulk to apply after I chip away all the old caulk? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Mike

Hey bro/ you are the master! I would have tried to talk him into going over that brick with stucco- it looks terrible and the colors are not meant to be. The blue bonding agent would have looked better! Anyway, y’all take care in Cali, and keep setting the standard for the rest of us! Peace. Chad in ATL

    Hey Kirk!

Have you ever done a "Fog Coat"? El Rey sells it and I was wondering about it.

In Southern Cal, the newest trend is colored Smooth Coat or "Santa Barbara Finish". You need to find a really good Plasterer, as good a Kirk though! Otherwise it will crack and looked terrible….

The 16-20 texture is top shelf! Good masonry, overall.
