BTW, I'm Jason, the beard behind the camera, and also a licensed contractor. My dad and I have switched to powerful, modern, and long-lasting all battery-operated Milwaukee tools for good reasons. Take the Dual Chemistry M18 Job-site Radio. For me, this is one of my favorite tools for any job site: http://amzn.to/3aVmD1T. I plug my cell phone in the top, then listen commercial-free to my music all day... or my dad's favorite artists. 😏🤔 We turn it off when filming. 🎥
We've also replaced our corded break out tool for the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Rotary Hammer: https://amzn.to/3ecdjsy. Here's a video about why we love it: -https://youtu.be/TdsGwupieXE
We exclusively use this battery-operated mortar drill - it's a drag searching for outlets, unrolling a hundred-foot extension cord, and winding it back up: https://amzn.to/2OzBxS0

As always a great explanation on what’s wrong along with the demonstration of how to correct the flaw. How long does this have to cure before it can be painted? How much prep prior to painting this?

Greetings Cint, most new stucco takes 28 days cure time before painting, but as just a skim coat it can be painted in two weeks.

Greetings Frankie, dont say or do that, they did things for you that you were too young to remember, they may have been too busy trying to keep food on the table, and could have thought, I dont want my son to do this so-called grunt work.
I'd wager they love you much more than you think, take the time and remember only the good stuff, each day, you will leave the bad memories in the past where it may be better off. This mind-altering takes so much discipline that all of us have a hard time with it, try my friend, really hard.
I don't know you, but I am a father, and my daughter thought this of me once, so now she's in training as I didn't realize she wanted to learn a man's game. My bad, I was protecting her when she tried to learn. There's no manual of how to be a good dad.

      Best wishes my young friend.

Kirk you’re a great guy. Just wanted to say thanks. I’ve learned loads of stuff from you and I’ve gotten good results on my house. Actually the stuff I learned from you looks better than the other professional work on my house. Installing drip screed the right way!

Kirk, I've spent the last month watching your videos. Thanks. I ran into a problem I don't think you have covered. I had to stop stuccoing in the middle of the scratch coat. I feathered the stucco out as best I could, but when I start again am I going to get a serious crack? Should I use a bonding adhesive?

Good afternoon, Kimberly, will you get a cold joint is a technical term, doubtful, Cold joints usually occur when you start and stop on the second coat, not the first coat.
As a rule, it's best to start and finish wall to wall, but sometimes this is not always possible.

Kirk. How do you know you didn't create a little bulge in the wall by patching it?
Is there a tip for knowing that just by looking at it perpendicular like you do?

Good afternoon, Yoav, I can look at a wall and tell if it's wavy or straight.
However, I told the homeowner I would create a much better appearance than what he had before. This we did.
Or, like the fella below said, I could use a straight edge or a ten-foot two by four.

Kirk , this is Hillbilly from Kentucky , is it necessary to float out the stucco after you rod it? if you're going to Prime and put an elastomeric synthetic finish coat over the hard coat?

Hi Mr. Kirk. I have 3 easy questions if possible asked. a)what type-kind of bonding agent you are using before the 3/1 stucco and time to go after that. b)anything else as agent to add in the mud e.g sb agent? and c)cannot find that brush here. Any link please?

Signore Giordano! Thank you for sharing some of your broad experience free for all who are willing to learn. I’m writing from Cape Town, South Africa. Been renovating my house for almost 3 years. 70 years old, double skin brick walls with old stippled texture (dash?) and many, many coats of paint. After a lot of chasing for electricity, some plumbing, new windows, window bands, etc. , my exterior walls look like a single huge patch, and you’re too far to come and fix it. I’ve been told the old dash can be match, but honestly after seeing the level of craftsmanship in this country, I’ve decided I’d rather do my own research and tackle it myself. And you’ve already given me a lot of tips and ideas. Is there a way I can share some pictures with you?Much appreciated from the other side of the Atlantic. Pablo
