Hello, our faithful subscribers and plasterers around the world! 🌎
Jason and I have over 850 original, educational, and free Youtube videos.🧘‍♀️
All by your favorite plaster geeks: me, and Jason, my son the bearded plasterer and video creator.
Below are just a few of our videos to give you an idea of who we are. You may also type in any question you may have on Stucco/Plastering issues on our channel, and like magic a video will appear to explain how it’s done. Then kick back, relax, and enjoy the show! 🍿
Oh yeah, don’t forget to save the world, like and subscribe. It’s not only good karma, but It also makes you feel warm and fuzzy all over. 💃🕺🏻 😉

My son Jason and I are also participants in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program.

With our Amazon affiliates links below, Jason and I took the liberty of researching the best tools at the lowest cost used by us. This removes the guesswork for you out of buying plastering and other stucco tools.
Amazon quickly provides this luxury. Usually, two day delivery with Prime right to your front door… makes a person downright lazy, but happy. 👍
Plus, this helps support us a bit so we can keep making these teaching videos. Below are just some of the tools, hawks, and trowels we recommend through Amazon – check out www.stuccoplastering.com/tools for all our recommendations.🎆🎁Remember, once on the Amazon page you can buy not just the tools we recommend but anything your heart desires.

BTW, I'm Jason, the beard behind the camera, and also a licensed contractor. My dad and I have switched to powerful, modern, and long-lasting all battery-operated Milwaukee tools for good reasons. Take the Dual Chemistry M18 Job-site Radio. For me, this is one of my favorite tools for any job site: http://amzn.to/3aVmD1T. I plug my cell phone in the top, then listen commercial-free to my music all day... or my dad's favorite artists. 😏🤔 We turn it off when filming. 🎥
We've also replaced our corded break out tool for the Milwaukee M18 FUEL Rotary Hammer: https://amzn.to/3ecdjsy. Here's a video about why we love it: -https://youtu.be/TdsGwupieXE
We exclusively use this battery-operated mortar drill - it's a drag searching for outlets, unrolling a hundred-foot extension cord, and winding it back up: https://amzn.to/2OzBxS0

Hi Captain Kirk. On the wall that you saturated with water, can weld crete be used instead?

    Reply
    • Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. says

      July 9, 2018 at 12:54 am

HowdyRayram, excellent question, yes it can, however, water is ten times faster, does not cost a cent and works better for the mechanical bond.
Fact is I did use weld crete for this purpose a few weeks earlier as the wall that was in the sun I had weld crete on the truck and my brother luuuu applied it by roller to kill the suction.
I had to redo that wall as the mud still dried too fast which created a varied color and texture.
lots of reasons why, but the fact is water and lots of it is the sure thing.
Weld crete is necessary if the wall is painted, the wall in this video was cementitious so the new to existing adhered by natural suction.

Howdy Roblox, Plastering Tommy guns are far from new, I worked behind a pump for many years, we would stucco 10 homes a day, but needed at least 10 competent men.
Think that's easy try working with two and staying on the same track.
I used to own a Tommy gun 20 years ago but had to sell it as too much paperwork involved and babysitting.

    Hi Kirk,
Up here in Ontario Canada people tend to use a styrofoam and a mesh, they put on the styrofoam then a base coat of a sticky cement on then push the mesh into it with a trowel. Then you put something like a colour coat ,this material is all premixed in buckets, I think they call it Dryvit, then they bring out the aggregate out with a hard plastic trowel.
I’ve done this and found you have to wash off the trowel regularly or the colour coat sticks to the trowel, and if you do it in the heat of the sun it dries to fast to float.
Would wetting the wall work in this situation?
    Thank you for the videos.

Howdy Dave, it called the Dry-vit system, of course since it was introduced here in the U.S. in the 60s it's been copied by many companies.
Keep a bucket of water with you, "clean your trowel often," as the cementitious material used to attach the mesh netting to the styrofoam also has an adhesive in it, very similar to Poly Bond. made by Lahar used to attach styrofoam molds to cement walls

      Evening Lord Dude. exceExcellentstion.
I had a weird customer last year who was stalking us. My son, Jason, said, "dad, she's not playing with a full deck" wed better not get involved.
I didn't pay attention as I try to help all. Big mistake.
She was nuttier than a fruitcake and got my crew and me for one of the hardest days I ever worked.
She kept bringing a ten-foot level out saying the previous work was off by a hair.
I finally packed up and left after later in the day.
I was taking a break and asking myself why I got involved with one who my entire crew could see, was not playing with a full deck.
The neighbor asked, "what I was doing," I said, taking a break from your neighbor.
She got really serious and advised, "take your loss and leave now." as she's a patient, from 'One flew over the coco's nest."
Other than that, I have not had any problems with getting paid.
Yes, I was sued 15 years ago by crooked attorneys who sued even all the delivery companies plus every company on the job site.
It was fraud, so I turned it over to my insurance. Fact is some attorneys are so crooked they have issues being "manly," unless they can effectively steal from another using their knowledge of laws then finding flaws.

I like it. Great job. I'm painting a nice home in la habra heights and I already knocked down all the buckling stucco and pressure washed. Then I gave it the sand finish, but I was a one man army,so that's all I did. I have to roll the glue as well. So Monday I'll do the texture, but I'm going to by a trowel like yours…Amen. thanks for the video. Hey, I even cherried out the houses foundation because it was beat up and I pulled back the guys stone to pressure wash. When I'm finished I'll put back the stone to a sand finish, but the rest of stucco will be light lace

Evening Marco, I never heard of an English lase paster finish. If I saw any stucco finish, I could match it. Or better yet, I have not found one I could not match if not on the money, I do the best I can. The most difficult of any finish worldwide is a people dash finish. This one is only difficult as it's too difficult to find all the unusual aggregates that someone might have used, such as abalone shells glass and other things. Introducing peace, love, and harmony back to the plastering world.         Sound Plastering tips for the DIY beginner or the Professional Plastering experts
