I was wondering the other day if anyone still made such things in plaster. I was going to send you a note and ask if you were familiar with how they're made. There used to be a LOT of architectural elements like this, made of plaster.

Howdy Dust Dude, this medallion was made of polyurethane, not gypsum, doubtful it could have snapped like the traditional gypsum ones made for interior use.

Howdy Dave Dude, doubtful, the screws are only there to hold the medallion up for the needed set time for the Poly Bond adhesive to take effect, beats holding the medellion up for the needed ten minutes,
FYI, a bit of caulking covers these heads so they dont show.

Good evening Jose, when I need equipment such as mixers I buy them used and ugly, it's the engine and running components I really check to make certain it will last many years.
Call the rental yards and go on craigslist, know what your buying by trying the machines, as today more than ever there are folks selling things that aren't what they say, I think this lack of honesty could be the result of poor eating and drinking habits of some sellers.

Hey Kirk, great video! I always learn something from you. Hey, I have a unrelated question. I just bought a new home and moved in about six weeks ago. The stucco is a very light color so when we got our last rain the water splashed the dirt all along the bottom of the house and now that it dried its stained. I tried hosing it down and that helped but you can still see the stain. Is there a method you can recommend for cleaning this without damaging the stucco? I had cement poured around the house so on the future it shouldn't get so dirty.

Evening Papoochee, dude as a rule if the cementitious color was applied that day and it rained that night it will stain the color coat where little can be done.
however if the color coat was applied and had a couple of days to cure completely, it does usually come off with your typical garden hose with a spray mist.
Tip, clean the dirt off treat it like a dirty pan used to fry spaghetti, that was left out overnight.
hose it done gently allow it to soak for awhile then come back and hose off.
Or allow the rain to happen for a few days then it should rinse off.
Don't use a jet stream as this might just take the color off.
Patients my brother, it's just like cleaning a frying pan, let it soak then rinse.
In fact, I have a video of this old common sense technique.

Kirk, I watch nearly all of your videos and I’ve been quite intrigued by decorative stucco. I’ve seen various photos of interior plaster made to look like marble. (Scagliola, Venetian plaster, etc). My question is; are there any stucco techniques to make exterior stucco look like marble? If so, I’d love to see a video or instructions on the technique. Thanks so much for your time, and I look forward to seeing more of your videos!
