Live long and Plaster
Howdy guys and gals, due to folks asking how to repair walls with mold issues and why and what is told to, I took on this project to explain a bit about mold in walls to answer such questions.
Am I a licensed mold specialist? no, but I do have common sense about such issues as being in the plastering trade for more than 30 years.
These pleasant homeowners called and asked to fix the failing plaster, I explained voluntarily what was actually going on.
as I said I was not interested in repair this as I was walking away, I thought, it’s my responsibility to at least inform them of my personal opinion of what was happening, thus, I did.
As a rule, this is not something we show or explain as there are too many rules, regulations, and certificates necessary to comply with laws.
The bad news is that mold when dried gets into the air by simply walking by it and disturbing the mold dust causing it to be airborne and easily inhaled by us and pets, not good.
If you were in a completely dark room and shown a flashlight you will see dust which is normal, plus perhaps mold?
Now on the flip side of the coin,
I personally have inhaled a lot as in my younger days I cleaned many homes of this mold, o yes, I was too ignorant, young and strong to wear proper respirators.
If you have a healthy immune system this may give you just a touch of a cold, however, if inhaled long enough, it will beat you up like smoking cigarettes, but the effect takes possibly as long,
Again, not good.
I get mold in my home often, I simply understand what it is and how to deal with it intelligently, I spray on my personal solution and wipe off.
Does this mean I am free from inhaling mold in my own home?
Not by a longshot as mold dust is a nanoparticle and can’t be seen with the human eye.
Will I buy a powerful microscope and look into?
Doubtful, as that kind of fear, would beat me up mentally.
I’m placing this video live to prove a point that it can be bad if your not aware of the potential problems that can arise if left alone or not understood.
I wish you all to be happy and wise and clean, but not paranoid, as mold happens.
Stachybotrys is a genus of molds which includes black mold the spores can kick a fellers arse be wise not ill.
best wishes, The Giordano team.
