One Coat Plaster and or Render

FYI, although we make applying stucco or plaster appear easy, it usually take about 10 to 15 years of hands on experience to understand how to apply Stucco/Plaster properly.

However With a bit of help from me ‘Kirk” your favorite plastering Professional, this video will be your guild to any and all questions about your most common home repair issues.

Stucco rendering according to me, the stucco guy, “Kirk”, material knowledge is 70% of being a well rounded stucco guy, the other 30% is application.

I don't drink, unless I'm with a friend or by myself. LOL. Kind of like I don't drink any more…. or any less.

Im a stucco plaster in Florida. We use different wire lath then u used. I use a grinder and bevel the edges so I can run mesh tape over exceding stucco when I can't tie in old wire to new wire. Wondering if you'll have rapid set mortar there in California. Home depot sells it here. Great stuff. It will dry up in 5 minutes, but alot of times I'll just mix it with the stucco to help set it up faster when I have to build certain areas out. But I've been told the less stucco u put on a wall the better it is. What do u think about that? I've also worked with alot of different companies, and they always want different processes. When it comes to new construction. Is it better to run the mud sideways to prevent block lines. I would always run 1st coat sideways then 2nd up and down. Always seemed to work fine for me. But the company I work for now wants me to put both coats sideways. What is ur opinion on that. Great videos by the way. Keep up good work

Kirk I like your videos first hand. I have never done this nor seen it done. I am doing a wall patch section that me and friends broke out to install upgraded power box for my house. I would like to see a setup video from trimming the patched area to paper and wire before putting on mud. Hoping to see on or do you already have one?

I just mixed rapid set for first time. Harder than it looks, not as easy as stucco at all. Directions say 4:1 ratio, I went over by some, half a quart and it was way thicker than yours. What ratio do you use for rapid set?

Hello Mr. Giordano, I have one question I thought you had to hard float using a hard rubber trowel for the one coat system to pack it and then give it texture with the green sponge, I believe I have seen you hard pack one coat stucco before, just wondering why you didn’t do it this time, just wondering.
