what happens if you paint a crack on a stucco color coat finish

don’t paint paint a crack on a stucco color coat finish

Hello ambitious guys and gals, if you have a crack on a stucco maintenance free stucco color finish Old Kirk says,
don’t paint a crack on a stucco color coat finish, as if you do, each time it rains your walls will look like a zebra, actually a zebra is unique, fascinating and cool looking, paint in the middle of stucco maintenance free finishes look goofy.
If you must close the hairline crack do it in the early morning and cut the tip of a caulking tube as close to the tip as possable and try not to get any on the outside perimeter of the crack itself.
If your going to paint the house than be as messy as you want as paint will hide all the different colors even when it rains.

Old Kirk says, material knowledge is 70% of being a well rounded plasterer,
The other 30% is application.

I'd say paint the whole house it looks like it could use a little love aside from the crack however most people don't want to spend the money if they don't see it necessary. I'm different that would bother the crap out of me every day it gets a bit of moisture. Love the videos kirk as a painter I've been able to learn a lot of plaster and stucco tips from you guys that have helped me in certain predicaments and that overall have made me more knowledgeable and a better tradesman! Best of luck in your future endeavors.

Howdy mac plastering, I'm sure you know all about the old caulk then paint to hide the patch on a color coat maintenance free stucco wall,
It works temporarily, when it rains the truth is revealed,
      Cheers,

That was a perfect demo. Instead of patching/caulking, that's where you plant the giant rose bushes. Distract with beauty.

Howdy, just explaining what folks sometime ask me, like "hey Kirk, is it ok to repair or caulk then paint a crack on a color stucco finish if I match the stucco color with paint?" Cheers, kirk giordano

Good Evening Glenn, the average wait or cure time for stucco is 28 days, Have to let the pH drop so the paint won't blister is just one reason.FYI, all of us here at the giordano plastering channel we wish to thank all our subscribers and those of you who accidentally stumble on our channel a happy and prosperous new year kirk giordano plastering

    You are hilarious Kirk 🙂

By the way, when you say holidays in your videos do you mean areas of the wall where there is an extruding mound or hill (the opposite of a dip I guess)?

Morning Charlie, when I say holidays I'm referring to mistakes, boo boos, drips, splatter and just downright screwups.
When a painter misses a spot he call this miss a holiday, don't ask me why but the term is popular, that I even have the habit of saying it.
Best wishes and have a happy and prosperous new year my friend.
