I'm an American and I completely agree. But it all boils down to speed and money. Stucco is cheap, easy and durable, but ugly as shit in my opinion.

@Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. Hi Mr. Kirk! I've actually watched some of your videos before. You are so great in your videos, one of which helped me repair a hole in my stucco wall. If everyone was as professional as you, I may not have such a harsh opinion of plaster! I've just felt for a while that modern middle class homes are so cookie-cutter in design and exterior finish. Hardly any Architectural pleasentries at all. So maybe it's not just stucco alone, but the whole industry of residential developement. We could do better, but it all boils down to money and land. Sadly most Americans don't have large sums to build custom homes like they used to in the 60s 70s and 80s; and in large cities, land is scarce and expensive. This leads to cookie cutter quick profit homes, like track homes with tiny yards. Sorry for the rant. Your videos are fantastic sir.

@Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. Hey thanks! I will study up and go try it soon. Also of note, the original stucco went down to the ground. Here in Florida they have a code where the stucco cant be in the ground or it wicks up the moisture. (could be the wood paneling they are concerned about. So when I bought the house the stucco cut was required to get the stucco and maybe the wood panel out of the ground level. Looks like when they did the cut they put that concrete on the bottom to seal it but it fell off over time…

@Kirk Giordano plastering Inc. Hey guys here are the results of my repair! My video shows a few gaps that still need filling. Also when the guys put the concrete on the bottom after cutting the stucco there seems to be a gap between it and the slab. I probably need to go around the whole house and caulk that little gap too… thanks again. see what you think…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TbtSi8YQPnI

This video helps me tremendously. I have a clean out the plumber needed to get to. They left me a repair that I am confident I can perform thanks to your video. It would have been great to see the entire process. I think I'm able to read between the lines to complete my project. I thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge via video. Consultation via zoom would be an additional revenue stream for those of us outside your range. Off to a big box store to purchase my material. Again I thank you.
