Mixing Veneer Plasters, Mix Imperial, Diamond base coats & finishes

Hello everyone, in this video I’m simply explaining some mixing tips and what these veneer plaster are about,

Jason Jacked up his wrist so I had to mix, (what a drag) I thought we have not shown the Imperial veneer plasters base coats being mixed and we were working on the water edge so it seamed a cool place to be mixing with the background.

Hello folks, my son Jason is also licensed as a plastering contractor, while he works with me quite a bit, he has to mix as I dislike mixing, which in turn has made him very good at the mixing aspect of our plastering trade. This is half the battle.
Suggestions for mixing?

I would suggest you apply 3 times as much sand as you do cement unless your plastering ceilings , then I would suggest 2 times as much sand as you would want the mud stickier.
Best wishes,

Evening Juan Medina, I don't understand your question. what is vinil? Are you referring to veneer plaster? If so why not? best wishes, Kirk & Jason Giordano's DIY plaster and stucco network

Kirk, do you think a plaster of paris and sand mix would be a good substitute for a veneer base coat? Some of these supplies are hard to find in Minnesota.

I wouldn't. Plaster of paris sets fast and is meant for things like casting molds

@Dominic Pascarella I looked it up on the material data sheet. It literally is just plaster of paris and sand. There is a little bit of clay in the mix too.

This Diamond Veneer Finish is 80% Plaster of Paris, and 20% Lime. Hope that helps someone.
