How to apply Acrylic Stucco Coatings, what is acrylic stucco
No, far from it!

For more quality products that I have been using, showing and recommending in our videos they have stood the test of time say for more than 20 years,(most of them anyway) the magazine below caters to these products, plus they have a really cool cover page at least for the January 2016 addition.
Don’t guess with your biggest investment purchace products that last longer than old kirk

I am in Arizona where the temperature reaches 115 F some summers. I would like to stucco the top of my raised patio that is made out of concrete blocks. Should I use acrylic stucco? Will it survive the heat of summer temperatures? Thanks

Hi Mark, yes, our mutual pal, ol, Jerry Pozo has mentioned you a few times, It did not ring a bell till now.
Yes, please send me your manual, for a plaster geek like myself, I love reading stucco and plastering stuff, as the information I read online seems to be written by fellas who may not  have 10, let alone a measly 20 years in.
The knowledge comes after 30 years and having to guarantee all you work in writing for 20 years, A lawsuit wakes a fella up to the thought of, (I'd better pay close attention to what other fellas are doing around me also.)
Please feel free to contact me also, at kirk4stucco@gmail.com

The paper behind my stucco has deteriorated and water now leaks down to the plate and inside the room. I used an elastomeric paint and it has worked for years but now with these El Niño rains it's coming back in. Is this acrylic a good choice for sealing the stucco? Is there a better fix ?

Howdy alldaymckay most of the paints last between 7 to 12 years if applied properly, that means, pressure washing the walls well, and then applying a coat or two of the best primer you can get your hands on, the paint is not as effective as the primer.
Almost all acrylic stucco systems last easily twice as long as paint, but are a lot more work as you can see in this video. But well worth it in the long run.

Howdy Lisette, yes you can, there are do's and dont's with all products, so choose a fella or gal, who knows the rules of stucco applications as Old Kirk says, material knowledge is 70% of being a well rounded plasterer,
      The other 30% is application.

    Hey Kirk
Love your videos man, must have watched 400 or so by now……. A quick question for you buddy. What brand of sponge floats do you use?
Over here in England. Me and my guys use sponge floats made by Refina (Top European brand for all platering tools, in my opinion) but would love to give your ones a try…..

Howdy Tommy, thank you, hate to say this but I have no clue as to the company that manufactures the green sponge floats.
I go to westside building materials and buy them by the case maybe 40 to 50 at a time, store in my garage and use them until they are beat up.

Kirk I have to coat a cement cap that was put on top of a stone retaining wall many years ago. The aggregate is really showing through and there are some cracks. Would you recommend a conventional stucco with float finish or acrylic? Thanks LOVE your videos

Good evening, Simon, I'd recommend an acrylic, they flex much more than conventional cementitious stuccos.

Howdy Allan, I'll trade you my home with no cracks in the Bay area for yours in the Bahamas?
Yes you can apply an acrylic primer and or finish over your home, you can also buy the best paint and primers available like Sherman Williams, cost about 80 bucks per gallon but this paint and others are so thick and good that they flood cracks and move with the structure, thus, won't open again. As all products, skills are necessary for applications.

My house got hit hard during hurricane mathew, and the help is next to none in the islands but we have the best fishing and diving.I did buy sherwin williams paint from the states but the cracks in the stucco are too big to adequately fill. Is there another product that you could suggest that I apply that is PAINTABLE ?

Good evening Robert, any trowel will do that, it's called a skip trowel finish.
You first apply a base then come back with a skip of the same base. Type in on our channel search bar how to apply a skip trowel finish.

Hello Kirk, I'm having acrylic applied to my house foundation next week. From what I understand, at the base is the original house foundation cement. On top of this, when the house was built, they applied a secondary cover of cement, also called parging. Now, in the acrylic process, they will REMOVE the secondary cover of cement. Is this correct?
