How to fix a useless, beat up, warped, crocked, stucco hawk

Howdy guys and gals,
A year or so ago I explained what my pal Fred Smith taught me over 30 years ago,
If interested and you have trowel that is crooked like a dog’s hind leg or worse yet a politician, simply click on the link below.

Please note, that video shows a trowel which is steel and the arm which is made of cast iron metal which is then riveted to the steel, when hit at a certain spot you can control the direction of the bend in the trowel.
However a hawk is usually made up of magnesium, what is this?
I don’t know either but I do know that you can pound this with a sledgehammer till the sun sets and this beat up hawk will still be useless for fine plastering like veneers and other finishes.
Can I do these finishes with a beat up hawk, be real of course, I’m a professional.
The bottom line is we save much more time with tools that are true and plumb especially in certain plastering.
So, bite the bullet and spend a few bucks for new tools when necessary.

Morning eloctocs dude, when we did this I was sort of irritated as my brother brought me the bent one twice already and asked what's the difference?
So I was explaining to him and thought who else does not know this stuff.

Hey Gee, I've killed more hours messing around with these hawks, even using a vice untill I got mad and saw a trash can, at least I received some therapeutic benefits from this fix!
The harder I through it in, the better I felt.

Great tip. If you spend an hour fixing the hawk its cost you $85-$100 anyway. $30-$40 for a new hawk. You always come out in front.Shannon

Good morning Shannon K, I havent thought of it in those terms, when you're right you're right and you're right. I simply use them till I get frustrated then throw them out. Best wishes,  kirk and jason

Tommy, you got lucky and must have strong wrists, I'd take a bent hawk any day to a sprained wrist.
