Structo-Lite plaster over a brick or cinderblock fireplace

Hello everyone, In this video I explain how to apply structo-Lite base coat plaster and some other tips on how and why to use Structo-lite base coat plaster.
I used to use this product in the 80’s a lot when I was a union plasterer, at that time Structo-Lite came in 80 pound bags., now structo comes in 50 pound bags, which Jason like much better.

Asa rule I do same day applications not because i’m impatient but because I love the challenge.
On this same day I also applied a diamond veneer plaster finish with color.
video coming soon, as to make one super long video with structo-lite plaster and diamond veneer finish would be way too long and youtube would yell at us.

No plasterweld or any thing like it at HD or orchards or Lowes….any ideas? There is a product called Drylok Latex Bonding Agent…ever use that?

So Kirk, whats the next step? The base coat is now finished…do you score the plaster for the next coat? And how would we do that?

Hi Kirk, Hope your well… I am thinking to use Strucctolight to to fill and level out some bathroom walls (where i removed very old tile from a 100 year old mud job) I need to build up about an 1" to make level with remaining plaster walls ( then putting back tiles)….I am thinking to adding portland cement or plaster of paris to accelerate drying time ( what did u mean when u said you added gypson for accel???) any where can I send you a pic of this mess?
    Thanks
    Joe

Kirk, quick question, what is the required maximum thickness of Stucco for ceiling based on your experience and you've seen on the field, thanks

Why use an exterior stucco corner aid trim instead of the traditional interior XX corner bead with the proper screed so you can cut back the brown coat for the finish application. FYI, to accelerate a set try using a small amount of alum (aluminum sulfate) to the mix.
