I think everybody oughtta use 5 minute mud at least one time! Some people are like little kids and have to try something they've been cautioned about to see if they can beat it (I'm guilty). 5 minute mud is no joke!

Mr Gee Dubb's, the owner told me he was going to use taping mud, I was doing some exterior work so I told him to relax. I had some 5 minute mud and with one swipe it would just need to be painted rather than hit twice and sometimes 3 times with taping mud, taping mud as you know shrinks and cracks like an egg if applied more than a 1/16 thick, this was 1/4 in some spots. Thanks for watching kirk and family

yep….agree. Looks like there's plenty of work from the looks of the background…..I'm pretty good with mud, but sometimes that 5 minute stuff even gets me. There's no middle of the road with it. It goes from workable to hard in a heartbeat. Thanks for sharing.

Kirk have you ever used structo-lite as a base coat for inside plaster repairs?

Hello Michael Maxwell, I used to use it all the time. and I still do sometimes when doing complete rooms as it's great for a base coat but I like to apply base and finish the same day.
Structo-lite needs a day to cure before your next coat, if you try and finish with it on the same day it's sort of gluey and sticks to the trowel. It's mainly a base coat and works perfectly for this purpose.
       Best wishes,
