Leaking roof flashing

Leaking roof flashing

Hi Gals and guys, In this video I am explaining a leaking parapet roof flashing detail. Its best when possible to solder the seams of metal flashing but the next best thing is to use the best polyurethane caulking available to make certain any standing water does no enter through the seams as it did in this video.
Of course a parapet flashing is not supposed to allow water to set while working it way through the seams.
But I have seen this many, many times before.
Best wishes with your own flashing details.

The best way to treat these situations with parapet cap is to repair the fall then use polybutylene tape on top of one flashing under the next. It provides for expansion and never hardens.

Hello dekonfrost dude, I'm all for tape too if that is what makes a person happy, any type of Caulking as long as it's a polyurethane caulking type or comparable, better is also good too. It's also sometimes over looked but equally important to clean the surface before applying your choice of fix, Best wishes, Kiri Giordano Plastering

Hello again Kirk, so before o was goimg to fix plaster walls you told me to make sure the water comimg is was fixed. so I bexame very obsessive on making sure everything was fixed. WELL I FOUND THE ISSUE! Along roof on putter edge we have 100 year old clay wall coping tiles. took me forever to figure the name. well I can tell these are not properly laid down some are broken. how would I go about fixing them amd making sure they are sealed correctly. also what if the bricks underneath have moisture? Is there another option on replacement also, I'm having a hard time finding these tiles locally to replace the broken ones??

Good morning Mrs. Wallace, I have no idea where to purchase the tiles, however, if it were me I would repair these tiles by applying Siaflex's, polyurethane adhesive sealant under them and even perhaps on the top as long as cosmetics are not important, "no one will see them"
FYI, my neighbor hit his 3 foot a brick wall with his truck, I fixed them 20 years ago with one tube of this caulking, there were at least 8 bricks that separated, they are still intact today.
and will most likely last forever without added grout to adhere them.
      Live long and plaster

That won’t last. Poly cracks in the sun. That needs uv resistant silicone under the joint. Then pop rivets every 40mm max and then a big bead over the joint then swirled with a light finger in small circles
