Drip screeds and where not to place them
Howdy folks, in this video I go over how, when, and why to place drip screeds. This particular wall the fella wasnt quite sure what they were doing and they placed their drip screed behind their sheer wall, and then used a J-trim as a drip screed instead!
This is not the right way to do it unfortunately, and this wall will need to be removed to be waterproofed correctly. Save yourself the hassle and watch this video!

Hey Peter, what does this mean?by the way the pigeon caption was way cleaver. Cheers! kirk the plastering dude
The " Fro" was a typo is now "for" an fixed … the more you post to google plus the more your business name gets coverage on google pages an results in possible future jobs , every little bit counts . getting the" stucco boys together" means the people you work with other stucco contractors an carpenters an subs . When you yell from the mountain alone no one hears. When you yell as group as on a chat people listen an can hear you . cheers !
Cool beans daddio, thanks for the tip, recognized works. Cheers! kirk giordano plastering
Hi kirk, I have a question, where the flat part on the weep screed goes to the holes. I have an area on my house that it's only about 3/8s of an inch below mud sill, I ran it level and and the very end it got closer to mud sill, I put alot of caulking behind it, but as I layed in bed it was on my mind lol, do you think I ll be alright?, I'm in southern California desert, we dont get a whole lot of rain out here, but just wanted to hear what you would say for peace of mind thanks kirk, p.s I really enjoy the videos, I'm a concrete contractor and I think you are one of the best out there in what you do
I never heard of even a correct ballpark figure of where the screed was to terminate. Yours is the first. It is all done to protect the mudsill. The old FHA stuff did not have the return leg. Newer screed does. Is it pretty much all the same or is the new stuff really that much more of an improvement?
