Adobe finish on Cinder block fence wall

Hello everybody,
in this video we show you how we refinish a skim coated cinder block fence wall. The original float finish does not match the house and the home owner wished it too.

Hello, In the video you indicated that cinder blocks dont need a bonding agent. Does a poured cement wall need a bonding agent?
    Thanks

Hi johnqglass, if it's cinderblock, brick or concrete and newly poured it does not need a bonding agent. the new stucco will adhere by suction.
Here's a tip, wet the wall if it darkens it's porous and stucco will adhere to it by suction.
if it's old and has dust, dirt, or moss on it this film must be removed as stucco or plaster won't adhere to dusty surfaces. You can remove resides many ways the easiest is pressure washing, or wire brushing.

Kirk, what's the difference between a fence and a wall? And when do you need a permit?

Hello Susan Pressel, that question reminds me of an old saying (one man junk is another man treasures)
You can call these built up cinder blocks a fence or a wall or a hundred other names if you wish. They were built to hold a swinging gate while matching the existing home. Thant's all I know.
thanks for watching and have a great day!

Hey numbers dude, are you telling me you don't have internet in the UK or just not in your area? If so go to of course Google, and type in (Bucket Scoops) E-bay, Amazon, Marshalltown and a number of other on line plastering companies should appear, simply order one or two, they cost about 10 bucks each.
Now you are ready to rock and roll.
Best wishes and thanks for watching,

I recently built an outside bbq kitchen/type thing combining a gas grill and Santa Maria style grill (wood burning). Right now I only have the concrete boards up (Wonderboard). Will this technique work on it? I love the look of adobe stucco. Just curious if there's any steps I need to prep for this. Thank you.
