proper way to install windows flashings

Hello again everyone, the contractor on this project shows the best and proper way to install windows flashings. This is quite possible the best window and door flashing I have had the pleasure of working on for quite some time and they did the same quality on over 20 windows and doors.
The contractor who installed theses windows and doors so perfectly is Daniel Richeimer owner of Red Plum Studio construction, you can reach this man at 510 295-8991.
Also, all other matters of prep work were also completed with the same precision to detail.
Simply Amazing!

What about the staples, do they not allow a certain level of moisture penetration?

Hi Ian Michaluk, excellent question. All the experts say no!
Staples or furring nails will not compromise the integrity of the paper. I have over 30 years using similar products from the old days where we used 1 ply to today where we now use two.
I leave designing and creating waterproof building products to the smart guys like engineers and chemists.
Thanks for watching and have a good evening.

This will make you laugh. I'm a builder in the eastern US and we've had a lot of tyvek failures behind brick veneer so, we are trying to track down some Jumbo Tex 2 Ply,  the ONLY way we can get it is have it shipped from the west coast!! Amazing that something you guys use everyday is so hard to get here!! LOL

Evening Sunshine dude, If you have a Westside builders over there they will carry it, or any other professional stucco or plastering material yard.
Also, I have seen this same two ply paper at Home Depot and Lowe's,
       best wishes, with the search.

Just curious, I don't see any casing bead on your window installations. Not necessary? Will it help? Just getting ready to do stucco on my own house and in reading on the subject there are conflicting views on what is and is not necessary. Thanks, love the videos.

Good morning Matthew, they are not required in my area. if fact they do more damage than good as it's one more adetail to have to paint, caulk and install with no purpose.

      cheers,

Howdy Mike, your window flange will dictate the answer for you, typical stucco is 7/8 thick.
