Evening Andy A , a stucco dude did that goofy stuff a month before I got there. It now needs to be broken back and redone correctly. If that had been done 36 years ago the whole wall would now need to be repaired not to mention the studs and the inner wall damage plus there would be mold everywhere.
    Have a good evening

Morning brother Andy, no worries, I can't spell for the life of me and I type with 2 fingers. If it were not for the spell check feature not a soul could understand any sentence I write. Also I even call my son's by their brothers names, I feel often I have sometimemers, sometime I remember sometimes I forget. Such is life of a man who has inhaled over 30 years of stucco dust.

Morning Perter, The westside event was a bit of a surprise. I usually avoid them, but didn't know what I was missing, will defiantly go to all of them in the future, especially if they serve the food that was at hand that day.

Thanks for watching and have a great day!

good day kirk, well I made a batch this morning, mix 30lb of stucco, 62oz of watter and 30lb of Portland cement stage 1 , did not have a hand mixter soo I use a shovel and a wheel barrel, mix it well until white and cement mix with each other, when done I left it to site for 10 mins or so, when I did the 90% test It passed, but what I didn't like about it, there was a lot of small lil balls, like lil rocks but when I touch it, i code smash it, whas it bcs I did not use a hand mixter to mix it well. ,??

Howdy Gorgy, that happens to us too unless we use a high speed drill, just press hard with the trowel and mix this unmixed stucco on the wall.

thnks kirk for the help and the tips, been a big help. I went and use the batch I made this morning, but I a played it to a dog house, be four I used it on the big build ,the stucco attached to the wall like a champ, other then the small lil balls that were all over, the stucco did not run or was hard to work with, once I was done I when back and scratch it all around , know im waiting of it to dry still I can go back and see the resort and is its all okay I would add the second coat,

Can I stucco an elastomeric like dryvit or elray directly onto plywood for an outdoor wall application or do I need to seal the wood and even apply some kind of mesh before stuccoing?

Hi, if it were me and I wanted the repairit to be permanent I would lath apply two stucco base coats then an acrylic finish.
To apply just an acyclic paint or stucco finish over just wood, it won't last too long, perhaps 5 to 15 years, then the sheathing will rot out
      sorry,

Hey Kirk…have an 8x 2 foot cement repair for a friend….his house is from 1920, and its cement over mesh over grey paper. Below that are 4 inch boards. Whats the best paper to use over the wood?? My dealer here says to use tar paper. ..thanks for the good info.

Hey Kirk, I just bought a stucco house. I am replacing a bigger window with a smaller one and have watched lots of your videos in preparation. I cut a hole in my stucco yesterday and it seems to be stucco on top of foam on top of sheathing. No lath and no paper. Ever seen that type of install before?

I have a wood sill at my door frame. Wood rot, termite damage, the threshold is intact but a few inches needs to be replaced. I want to put stucco in place of the old wood. What's the best way you guys suggest?
