Round off tops of cinder blocks, bricks or wood with stucco

Round off tops of cinder blocks, bricks or wood with stucco
how to round off the top of a cinder block wall

Howdy folk, in this video I explain how to add stucco to a parapet cap so the water won’t set on it but more importantly we are giving the home a Mediterranean look complete with rounded corners. I am using a darby instead of a trowel as it’s easier to maintain a more uniformed arched cap on long spans.
Best wishes, thanks for watching and have a happy and groovy New Year to folks everywhere,

Kirk, I had someone tell me that I should use a foam cap because it does not allow water absorption. I don't really want to do that extra step unless needed. What are your thoughts. will a stucco cap allow water in a cement block wall with stucco overlay. it was going to be a flat cap.

Howdy Bryce, sounds kind of weird to me, i would recommend some system similar to this where you have a couple peel and sticks that are compatible over the top. Best wishes, live long and plaster Giordano’s teaching video’s

How do you mix up the “mud” you’re using? I got some cinder block horse stalls and the edges of the windows are pretty sharp. Would like to use this technique to make a radius cap but no idea what mix to use or how to prepare it.

Evening George, we mix three parts of sand for every 1 part cement plaster.

Great tip thanks! Not sure if you still work icy roofs, but look into getting a pair of "yack tracks" to slip over your boots. they are safe for the roof and you won't slip. Like tire chains for your feet!

Howdy Brian, hopefully, this is the last icy roof I will work off. I did it for the fun of it and play around with my kids.                           Peace, love, and harmony to all         Sound Plastering tips for the DIY beginner’s and Plastering experts
