Plaster over cinder blocks, cracked cinder blocks
Hi guys and gals, in this video I explain the process of what we are doing. (Skim coating a new finish over a cracked block wall)
Terrible sound on this one too much wind and no mike.
Here we show the process of repairing and re-color coating some planter box retaining walls. We originally did these 15 years ago, and in that time the trees have grown much larger and the root systems have starting pushing on the walls so strongly that cracks were created. We applied a polyurethane caulking in the cracks, we then applied a fiber mesh tape over them, and then we finally applied a new color finish to the existing cracked walls to cover the old cracks.
How to apply cement plaster over cinder blocks.

Hey guy,
No, don't use polyurethane caulking to adhere the tiles. I usually use this caulking for filling cracks.
Use a thin set tile mortar mix specifically designed to attach tile.
Sorry for the confusion, and best wishes with this project.

@asics7ful Hey dude, to apply stucco over cinder block, you can do just a skim coat. A skim is any thickness between 1/8 and 1 inch. (one coat).
You do a scratch coat and a brown over wire when going over a wood backed wall. As a rule!
I have done 2 coats of stucco on concrete, but it's usually commercial stuff.
Traditional stucco is 48 hours for scratch to cure then brown. If you plan a color finish cure time is 28 days after brown coat.
Have a groovy day!

Good evening Katlunazul, no doubt, our newer stuff is much better, this one one of our earlier videos of the over 400 we now have plus we weren't using a mic back then. I would delete it but I need to remind myself how goofy I used to do video's.
Thanks for watching and have a good evening,
