Hi Jason, thank you for the compliment. We are trying to cover any and all areas in regards to stucco issues! Were still working on keywords so that the average DIY person can simply type in and find how it’s done. Then consider should I try it myself? Or hire a stucco contractor.
We will try and keep them coming have a groovy day!

Great job it has been a few years since I have been on a plastering crew, western Canada.
It is not that popular on the east coast where I currently reside, mainly siding. Going to be doing my dads place so the videos are great for brushing up! If things go well It may open a window to great things!

Easy Miguel, no need to start flexing, you and I are not in competition.
You are welcome to plaster with whatever plaster tools floats your boat.
As far as races being the best at whatever they do, I have worked with excellent plasters and some lousy ones regardless of their race. That would be like me saying us Irish, Italian guys are the best plasters, that statement is sort of goofy and would make me seam ignorant to even suggest it.

Hey birdchaser, amen, there is little glory in applying plaster all day long especially when you take the time out and show folks.
And videoing projects takes allot longer to get the job done, but fortunately for me, (call me crazy) but I love doing it.

Good evening ritewng1, It appears your wife does her research well. Stucco flex makes a great acrylic finish coat. I have used it before on a custom home we did in Tiburon that made the Marin showcase design cover of that magazine. About 20 years ago.
Thanks for watching and have a good evening.

Good evening ritewng1, stucco flex will adhere to almost anything. If you apply it to brick or block it will stick but of course it wont hide the fact that it’s brick or cinder block underneath.
You would first have to skim coat then apply stucco flex or any other quality acrylic stucco finish if you wish to hide what's underneath.
Thanks for watching and have a good evening!

Kirk, your examples of the tools and what they do is great. But you need an individual mike, the boom or camera mike picks up to much wind noise blocking your voice.

Kirk, I am stuccoing over metal sandwiching foam panels. This stuff has been up a long time and gotten beaten up by tractors and the such. Got the screen and felt paper up, but how do I go about leveling the brown coat so things end up being straight and level instead of wavy with peaks and valleys.

Hi JOe Shmoe, the easiest most effective way is to purchace a Darby and learn to use it,
Darby use does take some practice.

Howdy Em, below is amazon, which we just joined, I have highlighted the tools we use most, best wishes,

      http://amzn.to/2nQQxPC, http://amzn.to/2ohok0R, http://amzn.to/2nzDlhF, http://amzn.to/2nzNnz3,
      http://amzn.to/2nnQREr, http://amzn.to/2nzNnz3, http://amzn.to/2n30vc8, http://amzn.to/2nzGnlK,
      http://amzn.to/2ni6jA5, http://amzn.to/2mC7kpH, http://amzn.to/2nhWfav

Howdy folks, above are some links if you wish to purchase any of the stucco tools off amazon, BTW, these stucco trowels, Hawks, stucco scoops as well as the dash brushes and floats, can also be purchased at most of the plastering Materials yards, such as Westside Building Materials these are Plastering Material yards that cater to the professional plasterer, these yards are happy to sell to the public too.
When buying plastering trowels purchase the ones with a minimum width of 4 1/2 to 5 inches wide, these help to move plaster where you want it, any trowels between 3 to 4 inches wide are o.k. for concrete work but not recommended for a plasterer.
The hawks we use are a bit more in cost as they are Magnesium and large 14×14, they hold much more stucco or plaster thus less spilling, you can buy cheaper hawks made from Aluminum but they tend warp a bit easier.
The Green Plaster bucket scoops oddly is not sold on Amazon, however they do sell the steel version which cost about 5 bucks more.

Good afternoon Ron, no this home is neither here in the US, we have an abundance of lumber or had so all the framing including the shearwall sheathing is lumber.
thus not CMU blocks, concrete or steel framed,
I have stuccoed over steel framed building which in our area they place wood sheathing over the steel studs, when we lath and use machine screws to attach the lath and stucco as usual
