Apply stucco over concrete and cinder block walls. high winds with no mic.sorry

Apply stucco over concrete and cinder block walls. high winds with no mic. sorry

Hello, I was hired to apply a skim coat of plaster over these concrete and some cinder block walls, this job was located at the Masonic temple. The idea was to modernize the concrete walls with a cementitious skim-coat for cosmetic resurfacing to the loading dock. Then apply an acrylic stucco finish. We first power washed all the mold, dirt and moss off. Next we applied external corner reinforcement (corner aid). We then applied a skim coat to all the cinder block and concrete walls. After the plaster cured for at least two weeks, we hand applied an acrylic finish in order to match the building next to this loading dock.
PLEASE NOTE, some acrylics are terrible. They have very little acrylic formula added which makes them unable to spread out properly, these very low quality product will spider crack, sag and leave noticeable color variations on any projects. (They should not!) As a 30 year applicator I recommend you choose your acrylic wisely I have been burned several times and have had to re-do some work because of these inferior products. Google all the acrylics and read the reviews.

@Trollzzz68 Your right in this video the sound is terrible. Sorry, my son was out of town during this project, so I asked another one of my guys to use the camera. I’ll tell you it seems so simple to just hold a camera, but it obviously takes a bit of practice. I tried using it and failed too. Good thing I just do the stucco stuff.
    Have a good evening.

Where do you buy your corners from?

Howdy Priscilla Ornelas, I usually buy my stucco material at the closest neighboring plastering and stucco yards.
Close building materials, Westside materials or Cal Ply in Hayward, these shops cater to the contractors but also sell to the public.
But you can purchase these at your neighborhood Lowes, or Home Depot also.
Best wishes and have a great day!

Hello again Priscilla Ornelas, They are about 4 to 6 dollars each depending on where you buy them. I think at Home Depot they are the least expensive.
    Best wishes!

Howdy health dude, that’s an easy question. First, pressures wash the concrete, then apply a bonding agent, finally, apply the stucco. You could type in “How to prepare a painted wall for a color coat finish.” If you wish to actually view how I do it. Type in the words in our channel search box and the video will come up.
Best wishes and have a good evening.

Hey healthtoo, no, the acrylics I use and explain are just for the finish coats,
Apply your bonding agent to your wall, then skim coat with say rapid set stucco from Home depot or Lowes or premium stucco from a professional material yard.
After the skim coat has cured then apply an acrylic or a cementitious finish.
    (Your choice of finish)

Hey healthtoo, most of the acrylic coatings I apply are for finish coats only, and all require a primer from the company of your choice. Here are some of my favorite acrylic finishes if you wish to Google them for more details. Dry Vit finishes, Carson’s coatings and Stucco-flex.

Thx for info unfortunately I am on the fence between siding and stucco I like the slickness of stucco but dont think I can do it myself and getting someone else to do maybe too expensive. Basically looking for inexpensive siding to cover exterior walls clean sharp looking.

Howdy health dude, why not hire a plasterer to help you do the project, a fella willing to work by the hour?
    Have a great evening.

Morning Jacqueline Hirsch, no, however if you apply a bonding agent to the painted surface, the plaster or stucco will adhere. Also make certain the wall is really clean before you apply the bonding agent, Westside building materials in oakland sells plaster weld for interior and weld crete for exteriors both made by Larson's, Best wishes, kirk giordano
