Fixing excess stucco on bottom of wall caused by ground settling
Note the ridge joint, below details.
Howdy guys and gals, kirk here, your favorite exterior plastering professional with a simple tip about common ground settling, with 20 to 50 years of rain let alone 100 years, the ground will settle, thus will expose the stucco that used to lie in the dirt, now it floats in the air giving it an odd look or what some folks call an eyesore, no worries simply knock off the bulging stucco, clean well, apply a bonding agent then re stucco,
On this repair I left the ridge line as It would have taken at least another hour to allow this stucco to set then apply another 1/8 of an inch to cover, this excess ridge.
We ran out of time so I leave this to your imagination on how to add the extra 1/8 inch of course the few inches that were just applied would have had to set which in this case would have been about an hour.
So watch and if you’re considering doing it yourself as you don’t have a lot of dough and if you think you can, try.
If you have no interest or don’t need to save any dough, have sense enough to hire an expert, thus relax and let them do the chore.
Thanks for watching and have a groovy day!
